Leadership Academy

The Leadership Academy is my proprietary programme that enables participants to become aware of the challenges faced by executives in an accessible way and to take concrete steps to address them after the training. It is based on my personal experience of building two corporations in Poland and running them for 20 years and working with over 220 companies in consulting, mentoring and leadership training. In my managerial career to date, I have ‘nurtured’ 24 real leaders, CEOs and directors of well-known companies who are proof that I do this effectively.

LET’s get to know each other

Many companies are reluctant to reach out to external consultants because they do not believe it can be helpful to their situation. This is a limiting belief that is not necessarily true in every case. Certainly not in mine. That is why I have written a book as my way of gaining your trust, at a price of PLN 74.90.

Increasing Self-Awareness as a Leader

Being a leader is a state of mind that translates into day-to-day actions, especially in crisis situations. Many managers lack sufficient self-awareness of a leader, i.e. how their work is perceived by superiors, colleagues (peers) and subordinates. The Leadership Academy gives concrete tools on how to get feedback on the leadership level of each trainee.

A leader should be characterised by pragmatic empathy, the ability to think critically in order to innovate, the ability to delegate responsibility and promote teamwork. These competences are difficult to learn in the current educational system, so it is all the more important for a leader to accept constructive feedback about themselves. This is what I teach in this training.

In my work, I often come across ‘leaders’ whose level of emotional intelligence leaves a lot to be desired. Maybe you are one of the people who should work on this.

Motivating Subordinates

Motivating employees and the business environment by a leader is one of the most important leadership competencies that I develop in those I train during the Leadership Academy. In human resource management, many managers use negative ‘motivation’ based on fear and the belief that you have to be ‘tough because people will step on your head’. In leadership training, I show trainees how to motivate subordinates in a positive way, giving them the space to be creative and take full responsibility for their performance.

Company, Department, Category and Business Unit Management

The scope of the Leadership Academy programme includes theoretical and practical knowledge of company economics and management by SMART objectives and KPIs. It includes a practical discussion of profit and loss analysis, cash flow, the company's balance sheet, the concept of profit centres, the principles of planning and controlling and the impact of the trainees on the various items of these analyses and processes. Operational efficiency and company strategy are also discussed.

Team Management, including HR Problem-Solving

The Leadership Academy programme discusses in detail the cycle of manager development, from a micro manager to leader nurturing future leaders, prioritisation of team activities, how to motivate subordinates, the cycle of managerial action, which involves continuous improvement in the degree of achievement of measurable objectives. A great deal of attention is paid to building a manager's authority, delegating responsibility, time management, subordinate development and the correct giving and receiving of feedback.

A separate problem for modern managers is managing millennials at work. I write about this in the following post.

Testing the Effectiveness of Leadership Training

The question of how to translate corporate training into improved business performance is a bumpy one. Worldwide, companies spend approx. $400 billion on training, and the majority of managers find that this does not result in significant improvements in the performance of those being trained, their departments and their entire companies.

How the Leadership Academy Works

I believe that the most effective training for a company’s leadership team is closed-door and based on a specific problem or challenge that is relevant to the training’s participants - even better if it’s grounded in actual data. Training based on the same slides for each client and abstract workshop examples has some value, but not enough for me. Therefore, my Leadership Academy is really tailored to the real needs of the client, based on an anonymous pre-training survey and discussions with the client's management, all with the aim of truly translating the training into better business results for the company and the trainees.

Accordingly, the Leadership Academy is organised as follows:

  • Small groups of up to 10-15 to deepen interactions

  • Duration - 2 to 6 days - 8 hours per day (depending on the scope of the training)

  • Practical exercises on company (client) data and examples

  • Mandatory development of an implementation plan

  • Supervision of the implementation plan
